PROFESSOR FORMANDO CALANGO

Jesito "Calango" McLennan has been a student of Mestre Borracha for over a decade. He has studied Capoeira in Australia, Germany and Brazil, and was awarded his Instructor Certificate (Corde Verde) in 2013 by Grande Mestre Boa Gente, the 'godfather' of Capoeira Aruanda. He was awarded his Senior Instructor cord (Green/Purple Belt) by Mestre Borracha in 2016, and his Professor Formando (Purple Belt) in 2019. When he isn't working as a nurse, or playing on the congas or djembe at Barcito, you'll find him practicing capoeira in a park somewhere around Newcastle!
